3 Troubleshooting and Test Functions
Arm Movement Failed
The transport assembly was unable to complete a movement in one of the
axes.
The processor defines a certain time window for the successful completion of
a movement in any particular axis. The movement and position of the
transport assembly is monitored by the encoders on the stepper motors. If the
processor does not receive the correct position information from the encoders
within the time window, the error message is generated.
See figure “Transport Assembly” on page 226 for axes identification.
Arm Movement 0 Failed: X-axis.
Arm Movement 1 Failed: Z-axis.
Arm Movement 2 Failed: Theta (gripper rotation).
Arm Movement 3 Failed: Gripper (gripper fingers open/close).
Probable Causes
Mechanical obstruction.
High friction in transport assembly.
Defective motor assembly.
Defective transport assembly flex board.
Defective ASM board.
Suggested Actions
Ensure unobstructed movement of the transport assembly.
Exchange the transport assembly.
Exchange the ASM board.
