Printer Error Messages
Messages about printer errors will be shown on the touchscreen. These messages will help you
diagnose and correct problems.
Message Description
(01) Cover Open The front lid is open. Close the front lid.
(02) Motor Error A label jam has occurred. See “Resolving Media
Jams” on page 76.
(04) Printhead Service Module Error Open the front and upper lids on the printer. Rotate the
cutter unit downward to access the media path.
Examine the media path and printer interior to ensure
there are no obstructions. Return the cutter to the
normal position, close the lids, and then restart the
printer.
(08) Label Sensor Error A label jam has occurred. See “Resolving Media
Jams” on page 76.
(10) Label Jam Error A label jam has occurred. See “Resolving Media
Jams” on page 76.
(20) Label Loading Error The labels were not loaded properly. See “Installing
the Media Roll” on page 30.
(80) Label Roll Empty, Install New
Label Roll
The label roll in the printer is empty. Install a new label
roll. See “Replacing a Media Roll” on page 31.
(100) Ink Cartridge Not Installed,
Install Ink
There is no ink cartridge installed in the printer. See
“Installing the Initial Ink Cartridge and Powering On”
on page 13.
(400) Ink Cartridge Empty, Change
Ink
The ink cartridge in the printer is out of ink. Install a
new ink cartridge. See “Replacing the Ink Cartridge”
on page 25.
(200) Ink Cartridge Not Detected The printer cannot detect an ink cartridge. Remove the
ink cartridge and then reinstall it. See “Replacing the
Ink Cartridge” on page 25.
Clean the ink cartridge electrical contacts. See
“Cleaning Ink Cartridge Electrical Contacts” on
page 71.
