Print Quality Issues
If your labels contain missing lines or dots, or other quality issues, use the following checklist to
correct the problem.
Note: After each step, reprint your labels. If the problem continues, proceed to the next step.
1. Check the printer driver settings.
Check the printer driver settings to ensure they are configured correctly. See “Setting up
Printer Driver Preferences” on page 39.
2. Check ink cartridge levels.
Check the ink cartridge levels to ensure the cartridge is not low on ink. If cartridge ink levels
are low, replace the ink cartridge. See “Ink Level and Ink Change Controls” on page 57.
3. Clean the ink cartridge with the Clean Printhead icon.
Clean the ink cartridge using the Clean Printhead icon. See “Cleaning the Printhead” on
page 70.
4. Clean the ink cartridge electrical contacts.
Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge. See “Cleaning Ink Cartridge Electrical
Contacts” on page 71.
5. Replace the Ink Cartridge.
Replace the ink cartridge with a new one. See “Replacing the Ink Cartridge” on page 25.
6. Restart the printer.
Turn the printer power off. Wait ten seconds. Then turn the printer power on again.
Resolving Media Jams
If your label media gets stuck inside the printer, use the following instructions to remove it.
Caution: When the media is stuck in the print mechanism, do not immediately attempt to pull
media out by hand or printer damage may result. Use the procedure in this section to clear media
jams.
1. Cancel the print job.
Tap the Cancel Print Job icon.
The print job will be canceled and the printer will return to the Ready mode.
