4.1 Introduction

The lamp hous e of the DP2K-23B projector is delivered with xenon lamp.

Spare xenon lamps are packed in a p rotective c ontainer or wrapped in a protective cloth. Never re move this protective container or
protective cloth without wear ing adequate p rotective clothing (face shield, c lean leather glovers, welder ’s jac ket).

CAUTION: Xenon comp act arc lamps are highly p ressu rized. W hen ignited, the norm al operating temperature
of the bulb increases the pressure to a level at which the bulb may explode if not handled in strict accord ance
to the manufacturer’s instructions. The bulb is stable at room temperature, but may still explode if dropped or
otherwise mishandled. W hen ever the lamp house, containing a xenon lamp , has to be dism antled or when ever
the protective container or cloth has to be removed from the xenon lamp , authorized protective clothing MU ST
be worn!
Cathode adaptor
A cathode adaptor is required to mount the x enon lamp in the lamp hous e. The cathode adapter has to be mounted upon the cathode
side of the xenon lamp prior to mounting the lamp in the lamp house. The purpose of the cathode a dapter is to position the arc of
the xenon lam p in the middle of the r eflector inside the lam p house.
