4.3 Removal of the xenon bulb lamp
WARNING: DO NOT P ERMIT UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL TO PERFORM OR ATTEMPT ANY PHASE OF
XENON LAM P HA NDLING OR SERVICE. ONLY TRAINED AN D QUALIFIED TECHNICAL S ERVICE PERSONNEL
ARE ALLOWED TO HANDLE THE XEN ON LAMP.
WARNING: This procedure may only be performed by qualified technical service personnel.
CAUTION: Xenon comp act arc lamps are highly p ressu rized. W hen ignited, the norm al operating temperature
of the bulb increases the pressure to a level at which the bulb may explode if not handled in strict accord ance
to the manufacturer’s instructions. The bulb is stable at room temperature, but may still explode if dropped or
otherwise mishandled. W hen ever the lamp house, containing a xenon lamp , has to be dism antled or when ever
the protective container or cloth has to be removed from the xenon lamp , authorized protective clothing MU ST
be worn!
WARNING: Always wear fa ce pro tection (full face shield with neck protector) when handling xeno n lamps.
WARNING: Alw ays wear protective clothing (welder’s jacket) when handling x enon lamps.
WARNING: Alwa ys wear clean leather gloves w ith w rist protectors w hen handling xen on lamps.
Necessary tools
• Two open-end wrenches of 22 m m.
• 5 mm Allen wrench.
• Lamp protective c ontainer or protective c loth with two binders.
• Flat blade screw driver.
• 2,5 mm Allen wrench.
How to remove the lamp
1. R emove the side cover of the Lamp House by r eleasing the two quarter turn s crews (reference 1 image 4-6) at the bottom of the
side cover as illustrated.
