9 Slide Shaft Sensor Calibration
9-18 FLO-GARD 6301 DUAL CHANNEL VOLUMETRIC INFUSION PUMP SERVICE MANUAL 07-19-B1-729
Slide Shaft Sensor Calibration
This calibration must be done after the slide clamp sensor has been calibrated.
Note: Early production units may contain the potentiometer VR804 and VR806
instead of jumper wires soldered across the holes. If your unit contains these
potentiometers you must perform this calibration procedure, otherwise, skip
this procedure.
1. Connect the pump to a 115 ±5.0 VAC 60 Hz power source.
2. Enter Automatic Test Mode 1.
3. Insert the slide clamp and keep the pump door opened.
4. Turn potentiometer VR806 (Pump 1) or VR804 (Pump 2) fully
counterclockwise and connect a DC voltmeter at Pin 4 of CNTEST2 and
Pin 5 for ground. The voltage should be 0.2 V or less. Use Pin 2 for
Pump 2.
5. Close the door and check that the voltage reading is 4.2 V or more.
6. Open the pump door and push the slide clamp fully into the slide clamp
slot. Check that the voltage reading is 0.6 V or less with the door opened.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 two times.
Note: Apply a thin film of Red Glpt to the potentiometer to prevent the calibration
from being changed.
A/D Converter Reference Voltage Calibration
1. Separate the front and rear housings in accordance with “Separation of
Front and Rear Housings” on page 8-5. Do not disconnect any of the
cable connectors.
2. Connect a digital voltmeter between pin 1 (+) and pin 8 (–) of the
CNTEST1 connector.
3. Connect the AC plug of the pump to a 115 ±5.0 VAC 60 Hz power
source.
4. Turn the pump on and adjust potentiometer VR501 until the meter
reading is 5.000V ±0.010 V.
5. Disconnect all test equipment. Install the EPROM cover and battery, see
“Replacement of Battery” on page 8-24.
