A
35
ampere-hour,
12-volt
battery is located
on
thtJtight
forward
side
of
the
firewall.
Battery servicing procedures
are described in the
HANDLING. SERVICtNG
AND
MAIN-
TENANCE section.
GENERATOR
Direct~current
electric
power
is supplied
by
a
12-volt
engine-driven generator of 35 ampere capacity, controlled
by a voltage-current regulator
which
automatically
adjusts
generator
output
to its load, including recharging
the
battery. The generator
circuit
breaker is installed
on
the
left side of the nose
wheel
well
bulkhead.
The ammeter is of
the
conventional charge-discharge type,
showing
the rate
of
charge
or
discharge
of
the
battery. A
zero reading,
which
should be
the
normal
condition
in
cruising
flight, indicates
that
the battery is
fully
charged
and
the
generator
output
has been adjusted by
the
regulator to balance the load
of
electrical
equipment
then
in use.
ALTERNATOR
A
60-ampere, 12-volt. gear-driven alternator is optional
equipment.
The alternator is designed to
maintain
its
full
rated 60-ampere
output
at
900
rpm.
A transistorized voltage
regulator adjusts
alternator
out-
put
to
the
~equired
electrical load, including battery re-
charging. Charge
or
discharge
of
the
battery is indicated
by the ammeter. A zero reading,
which
is normal for
cruising
flight, indicates that
the
battery is
fully
charged
and
that
alternator
output
has been adjusted by
the
volt-
age
regulator
to
balance
the
load of the electrical equip-
ment
in use.
