CAUTION
When
cleaning landing gear areas
with
solvent,
especially
if
high-pressure equipment is used,
exercise care
to
avoid
washing
away
grease
from
landing gear components.
After
washing
the
landing gear areas
with
solvent, lubricate
all
lubrication
points,
or
premature
wear
may
result.
Do
not
apply wax, polish, rubbing compound. or
abrasive
cleaner
to
any
uncured
painted
surface. Use
of
such items can
permanently
damage
the
surface finish. Also, waxes and
polishes seal the paint
from
the air and prevent
curing.
CAUTION
Alkyd enamel (sometimes called
"automotive
enamel"), acrylic enamel, lacquer, and dope
finishes require a
curing
period of approxi-
mately
90
days;
Acrylic
urethane, polyester
urethane, and epoxy
finishes
undergo a curing
process
for
a period
of
30
days
after
application.
Wash
uncured
painted
surfaces
with
a
mild
non-detergent soap (MILD detergents can
be
used on
urethane
finishes) and cold or luke-
warm
water
only. Use soft cloths. keeping
them
free
of
dirt
and
grime.
Any
rubbing
of
the
surface
should
be done
gently
and
held
to
a
minimum
to
avoid damaging
the
paint
film.
Rinse
thoroughlywith
clear water. Stubborn
oil
or
soot deposits may be removed
with
auto-
motive
tar
removers.
