GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
Avoid C arbon Monoxide

All engine exhaust conta ins carbon
monoxid e, a deadly gas. Brea thing car-
bon monoxide c a n cause heada c hes,
dizziness , drow sines s , naus ea , confu-
sion and eventuall y death.
Carbon m onox ide i s a co lorless, odor-
less, tasteless gas that may be present
even if you do not s ee or smell any en-
gine ex ha us t. Deadly l ev els of carbon
monoxid e can collect rapidl y, and you
can quickly be ov ercome and unable
to save yourself. Also, d eadly levels of
carbon monoxide can linger for hours
or days i n enclosed or poorly ventilated
areas. If you experience any symp-
toms of c a rbon monox ide poisoning,
leave the area immedi ately, get fresh
air and seek medical treatment.
To prev ent serious injury or death from
carbon m onox ide:
– Nev er run the vehicle in poorly ven-
tilated or partiall y enclosed areas
such as garages, carports or barns.
Even if you try to ventilate engine
exhaust with fa ns or open windows
and doors, carbon monoxide can
rapidly reach da ngerous leve ls.
– Nev er run the vehicle outdoors
where engine exhaust c a n be drawn
into a building through openings
such a s window s and doors.
Avoid Gasoline Fires and
Other Ha zar ds
Gasoline is e xtremely flammable and
highly explosive. Fuel vapors can
spread and be ignited by a s pa rk or
flame man y feet aw a y from the en-
gine. To red uce the risk of fire or explo-
sion, follow these instructions:
– Us e only a n approved gasoline con-
tainer to store fuel.
– Nev er fill the gasoline container in
the vehi cle cargo box or on the v e-
hicle - an electrical static discharge
may ignite the fuel.
– Strictly adhere to instructions in

– Nev er start or operate th e engine if
the fue l ca p is not pro perly installed.
Gasoline is poisonous a nd can caus e
injury or death.
– Nev er sip hon ga so line by mou th.
– If you swallow gasoline, get a ny in
your eye(s), or inhale gasoli ne vapor,
see a doc tor immedi a te ly.
If g asoline spills on you, w ash with
soap and water and change your
clothes.
Avoid Burns from H o t P arts
Certain components li ke b rake rotors
and exhaust components become hot
during operation. Avoid contact with
those parts during a nd shortly after op-
eration to avoid bu rn wounds.
Accessories and
Modific ati ons
Any m odifications or addition of acces-
sories may affect the handling of your
vehicle. It is important to take the time
to get familiar with the vehicle once
modifications are made to understand
how to a da pt your driving behavior ac-
cordingly.
Do not tam per with unauthorized m od-
ifications or install equipment not
specifically certified by BRP for the
vehicle. Thes e modifications have not
been tested by BRP and they ma y in-
crease the risk of injury or loss of con-
trol, or render the v ehicle illegal to ride.
As an example, tampering with tire
specifications may affect the beha vior
of the vehicle and increa s e the risk of a
loss of control.
Ask y our authorized BRP dealer for
suitable available accessories for your
vehicle.
