MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Apply a small amount of c opper- ba sed
anti-seize lubri cant over spark plug
threads.
Screw s pa rk pl ug into cylin der heads
by ha nd and tighten with a torque
wrench and a proper so cket.
CAUTION Do not overtighten
spark plugs, engine damage can oc-
cur.
TIGHTENING TORQUE
HD8 Spark plug
20 N•m ± 2.4 N•m
(15 lbf•f t ± 2 lbf•ft)
HD10 Spark plug
11 N•m ± 1 N•m
(97 lbf•in ±9lbf•in)
CVT Cover
NOTE: For a better understanding,
some i llustrations are taken with en-
gine ou t of vehicle. To perform the
following instructions, it is not neces-
sary to remov e engine.
This CV T is lubrication free. Never lu-
bricate any com ponents except drive
pulley bearing.
WARNING
Never touch CVT while engine is
running. Never drive vehicle when
CVT cover is removed.
WARNING
Engine must be cool before cover
is removed. Always wear protec-
tive gloves when removing cover.
Place the vehi cle on a level surface.
Select PARK position.
CVT Cover Access
Tilt cargo box.
Remove LH rear deflector by removi ng
the plastic rivets.

CVT Cover Removal
Remove all CVT cover retaining
scre ws.
NOTE: Remove the center top screw
last to s upport the cover during re-
moval.
NOTE: Do not use an impact tool to re-
move CVT cover screw s.
Remove the CVT cover and its gasket.
