The brake holding mechanism func-
tion is to maintain brakes to all wheels
while shift lever is set to Park.
To engage the brake holding m echa-
nism, proc eed a s follow :
1. Immobilize vehicle,
2. A pply a nd hold the brakes,
3. P ut shift lever i n Park,
4. While hold ing the bra k es , lift lever
toward the steering whee l,
5. Release the brakes, the pedal
should stay lowered.
