SAFE OPERATION - RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a high performance off-road
vehicle. Operators must be res pon-
sible and u se care to avoid rollo vers,
tipovers, collisions, and other acci-
dents. Even with vehicle safety fea -
tures (such as protective structure,
seat belts, side nets) and protective
gear (such as a helmet), there is al-
ways a ri sk of injury or death in these
accidents. To red uce the risk of seri-
ous injury o r death, follow the rul es i n
this section.

Always inspect and confirm the safe
operating condi tion of your v ehicle
prior to ride. Always follow the main-
tenance schedu le describ ed in this
Operator's Guide.
Never allow any one to opera te your
vehicle unl es s they are responsible
and can be trusted w ith a h igh perfor-
mance vehicle. Conside r supervising
new or y oung operators and setting
rules and limits (e.g., whether they ca n
carry passengers , what they m ay do
with the vehicle, w here they may ride,
etc.) for a ny one us ing y our vehi cle.
If equipped with optional D.E.S.S.
keys, sele ct the appropriate key (s ee

) based
on the operator's e xp erience, vehicle
use and env ironment.
Discuss the safety information with
anyone who w ill be using the vehicle.
Be sure that all operators and passen-
gers meet the qualifications below a nd
agree to follow the safety information.
Help users become familiar with the
vehicle.
We encoura ge you to ha v e an An-
nual Safety I nspection of y our vehi-
cle. Please contact an authorized BRP
dealer for further details. Though not
required, i t is recommended that an
authorized B RP dealer perform s the
preseason p re pa ration of your vehi-
cle. Each visit to your authorized BRP
dealer is a great opportunity for your
dealer to verify if your vehicle is in-
cluded in a ny s a f ety campaign. We
also urge you to visit your authorized
BRP dealer in a timely m a nner if you
become aware of any s af ety related
campa igns.

Become completely familiar with the
operational controls and the ge nera l
operation of the vehicle.
Take a training course if available (con-
tact an authorized C a n-Am dealer to
find out about training course avail-
ability as wel l as on the internet a t
http://www.rohva.org/), and perform
the practice exercises in
PRACTICE
EXERCISES
section. Practice driv-
ing in a suitable area free of hazards
and feel the response of each control.
Drive at low speeds. Higher speed s re-
quire greater experience, knowledge
and suitable riding c onditions.
Be at least 16 years of age.
Be tall enough to be properly seated:
back against the backrest with the
seat belt fa sten ed, to hol d the steer-
ing wheel with both hands and still be
able to reach the full stroke of brake
and acce lerator p eda ls with the right
foot and to firmly pla nt left fo ot on the
footrest.
Have a proper driver's license in accor-
dance with local laws.
Never use this vehicle with drugs or al-
cohol, or if tired or ill. These slow re ac-
tion time a nd impair judgment.
