5. Install pressure cap.
6. R un engine a t idle with the pressure
cap ON until the cooling fan cycles
on for a s econd time.
7. Stop the eng ine and let it cool down.
WARNING
In order to avoid potential burns,
do not remove the pressure cap if
theengineishot.
8. When the engine is cool, remove
pressure cap and add coolant if re-
quired.
9. Install pressure cap.
10. A f ter the nex t ride f ollowing this
procedure, chec k coolant level.
Add coolant as required. Refer to
ENGINE CO OLANT LEVEL VERI-
FICATION
in this section.

The cleaning of the filters
must be performed more often than
recommended when riding in dusty
conditions or sand.
Fresh Air Filter
Open hood to access fresh air filter.

Inspect the filter for any s igns of lea ks.
A s trea k of d ust on the cle an side of
the filter is a telltale sign. Replace filter
if there is a ny damages. Eliminate a ny
source of air leaks before installing a
new filter.
Clean a ir filter by tapping out hea v y
dust from paper eleme nt, this will al-
low dirt and dust to get out of the paper
filter.
NO TICE
It is not recommended to
blow compressed air on the paper
element; this could damage the pa-
per fibers and reduce its filtration
ability when used in dusty environ-
ments. If air filter is too dirty and
cannot be cleaned following the rec-
ommended procedure, it should be
replaced.
