7.6. Standalone Mode
7.6.1. Overview
In Stand Alone mode, the turbine solely supports the load, providing required voltage, and active
and reactive power. A microturbine in Stand Alone mode will try to maintain its pre-set voltage,
regardless of connected loads. If the load is above the capability of the engine to provide
continuous power, the batteries in the microturbine will supply the shortfall in an attempt to keep
the system running. If this overload condition continues, the batteries will ultimately be drained
and the system will eventually shut down. Therefore, it is important to size loads according to the
guidelines detailed in the C1000S/C800S/C600S Technical Reference (Table 1).
