Operatingthemachineinhotweatherandhighaltitudes
Airdensitydecreasesasaltitudeorambienttemperature
increases.
Asaresultofthis,theengine’smaximumoutput,quality
ofexhaustgas,temperatureleveland,inextremecases,
startingbehaviour,areimpaired.
Enginecanbeusedataltitudesupto3000m(9842.5ft)
andtemperaturesupto50°C(122.0°F)formobileoper-
ations.
Iftheengineistooperateundermoresevereconditions
(athigheraltitudesortemperatures),itwillbenecessary
toreducetheinjectedfuelquantitywiththeresultingloss
ofenginepower.
Observethefollowingrecommendations:
•
maintainthecorrectcoolantlevelinthecoolantreser-
voir;
•
checktheconditionofthecoolerplugbeforestarting
andreplaceitifnecessary;
•
carefullycleanthecoolerandtheengine;
•
checktheconditionofthealternatorbeltandenginefan
belt;
•
uselubricantswiththerecommendeddegreeofviscos-
ity;
•
useanappropriatecoolant.
