Machinesafety
Beforeperforminganymaintenanceorrepairoperation,
makesurethemachineisinsafecondition.
Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground,awayfrom
anysoftground,excavationsorpoorlyshoredcavity.
Lowertheloaderattachmenttotheground.
Placethebackhoeattachmentintheroadtravelposition.
Placethedirection-of-travelleverandgearshiftleverin
neutralposition.
Immobilizethemachinewiththeparkingbrake.
Locktheattachmentcontrols(specictocertaincoun-
tries).
Completelyraisethestabilizersandlockthemmechani-
cally.
Stoptheengineandremovethestarterswitchkey(all
maintenanceoperationsmustbeperformedwiththeen-
ginestoppedandthestarterswitchkeyremovedfromthe
cylinder).
Releasethehydraulicpressurebyoperatingthecontrol
leversinalldirections.Onhydraulicallycontrolledma-
chines,turnthekeytoONandreleasethepressureby
movingthehydrauliccontrolleversinalldirections.
Disconnecttheelectricalsystembydisconnectingthebat-
terymasterswitch.
Placesomewedgesunderthewheelsinordertoprevent
themachinefrommoving.

Personnel
Thepersonnelinchargeofthechecksandmaintenance
operationsmustbesufcientlyskilledtoperformthese
operationsonthismachineorsimilarmachines.
Thisskillmaybeobtainedbybeingtrainedforseveral
daysbyatechnician,forexample,orbyattendingatrain-
ingcoursegivenbyqualiedteachers.
