Inserting and Ejecting the power supply unit-APU290
2 Determine whether two PSUs are working in the system.
3 Insert the power supply unit-APU290 in slot 8/slot9 on base chassis.
4 Slide in the power supply unit-APU290 along the guide ways provided on the
chassis.
5 Insert the power supply unit securely to the backplane of the 6200 network
element.
6 Fasten the unit to the chassis using a manual Phillips (PH1) screwdriver.
7 Repeat step 4 to step 6 for inserting the second power supply unit-APU290
in the remaining empty slot allotted on base chassis.
Note: After inserting the power supply unit-APU290, a gap is left above and
slot 7 on the chassis cannot be used. This gap has to be covered by a filler
panel.
8 Place the APU filler panel over the gap and fasten the filler to the chassis
using a manual Phillips (PH1) screwdriver.
You have completed the insertion of the power supply unit successfully.
If the system has Then
two power supply units in working
condition
power supply units are hot
swappable.
eject the required power supply unit
to be replaced.
Go to step 4.
only one power supply unit in
working condition
power down the distribution frame
and eject the power supply unit, see
Risk of Service disruption.
Go to step 4.

The power supply unit is not hot swappable.This action
is service disruption.

Risk of performance degradation
Failure to fasten the face plate to the sub rack may
result in intermittent failures, because of poor
connectivity.
