Introduction
This chapter describes how to install a Cisco SCE8000 GBE chassis.
Warning Before you install, operate, or service the system, read the Regulatory Compliance and Safety
Information for the Cisco SCE8000 GBE Platform. This guide contains important safety information you
should know before working with the system.
Warning Only trained and qualified personnel should be allowed to install, replace, or service this equipment.
Warning Before working on a chassis or working near power supplies, unplug the power cord on AC units;
disconnect the power at the circuit breaker on DC units.
Warning The plug-socket combination must be accessible at all times because it serves as the main
disconnecting device.
Warning This unit is intended for installation in restricted access areas. A restricted access area can be
accessed only through the use of a special tool, lock and key, or other means of security.
Warning There is the danger of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. The battery is not a
user-serviceable part.
