That is going to be where the focus-stack is the longest in our case the wing-span. Since the Y-
axis controls the rotary table we use the Y-slider to rotate the bee so that its wing-span is
parallel with the camera. Once the bee is set to the proper (worst-case / longest travel) position
press the redreturn button. Keep in mind this is the worst-case stack depth position not
necessarily the worst-case framing direction.
Now let’s set up the X-axis for the stack. Press the “X” at the top of the screen:
That will bring up the X-axis settings:
This process is identical to the single-axis mode. First, since our depth of field (DOF) is 0.249mm
for our lens/camera settings, we’ll once again set the X-Distance (the amount the rail will travel
per step) to 150um. To do this, press the “X-Distance” button and enter 150um.
