12. Troubleshooting
Problem
Cause
Solution
Power LED is not lit.
Power cord is not inserted
properly into the power jack.
Insert the power cord
properly into the power jack.
It needs to be fully seated in
the connector.
Power cord is not plugged into
the wall.
Plug power adapter into the
wall into a known-good
circuit.
Wrong AC/DC adapter used.
Be sure to use the AC/DC
adapter that was included
with your StackShot 3X
module: 12VDC minimum
2amp (2000 mAh)
Power button not pressed
StackShot 3X has a small
power button next to the
power jack. Press and release
to turn on.
LCD keeps turning off
LCD Power Save mode is
turned on
See section 8.15 - LCD Power
Save” to turn off LCD power
save.
Motor moves backwards
Polarity is set wrong
Depending on the orientation
of your setup the polarity may
be incorrect. See section “
9.9
- Polarity
” for adjusting the
motor polarity.
Camera or flash does not
trigger
Equipment in sleep mode.
Ensure equipment is in ready
mode.
Shutter output settings are
incorrect or camera is
connected to wrong shutter
output.
See sections “8.5 - Shutter
Output Settings” and “8.4 -
Shutter Button
” for proper
settings.
Motor does not spin
Motor cable is unplugged.
Plug in motor cable.
Motor cable not seated.
With new products the
connectors can be quite stiff.
Be sure the connectors are
fully seated in the controller
and to the motorized device.
Motor Torque setting is too
low.
Increase the motor torque
setting. See section “9.6 -
Torque”.
Motor makes
clunking/grinding noise
Motor cable not seated.
With new products the
connectors can be quite stiff.
Be sure the connectors are
fully seated into the controller
