You also have the option to specify the value of an external shunt resistor. You
should have a very good reason not to use the internal 100 kΩ shunt! With half
and full bridge configurations, you can select the bridge resistor (R1, R2, R3 or
R4) to be shunted.
You may enable or disable shunt calibration and/or offset nulling for special
purposes. Clicking the Next button will execute the specified operation(s) and
show the results:

Location ID displays the Channel number for the particular Spider-80SG
module that’s being calibrated.
Meas. Strain is the strain measured after nulling and before the shunt resistor is
switched in. This reflects any remaining offset value measured from the strain
gage before shunt calibration.
Error (%) = (Measured Strain*100) / (Max Strain Min Strain)
Where: Max Strain and Min Strain are user entries to the Strain Gage input
channel table.
Simulated Strain is the amount of the strain simulated by the shunt.
