The following parameters may be configured:
Parameter Description
IPv4 Ping Test
Target IP Address
Enter the Target IPv4 Address of the host.
Repeat Pinging for
Click the Infinite times radio button, which will tell the ping program to keep sending ICMP Echo
packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. Or the user may opt to choose
a specific number of times to ping the Target IP Address by entering a number between 1 and
255.
Timeout Select a timeout period between 1 and 99 seconds for this Ping message to reach its
destination. If the packet fails to find the IPv4 address in this specified time, the Ping packet will
be dropped.
IPv6 Ping Test
Target IP Address
Enter the Target IPv6 Address of the host.
Interface Name
Enter the Target Interface Name of the host.
Repeat Pinging for
Click the Infinite times radio button, which will tell the ping program to keep sending ICMP Echo
packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. Or the user may opt to choose
a specific number of times to ping the Target IP Address by entering a number between 1 and
255.
Size
Use this parameter to set the datagram size of the packet, or the number of bytes in each ping
packet. Users may set a size between 1 and 6000 bytes with a default setting of 100 bytes.
Timeout Select a timeout period between 1 and 10 seconds for this Ping message to reach its
destination. If the packet fails to find the IPv6 address in this specified time, the Ping packet will
be dropped.
Click Start to initiate the Ping program.
Trace Route
This window allows the user to trace a route between the Switch and a given host on the network.
To view this window, click Monitoring > Trace Route, as shown below:

IP address of the destination end station.
TTL
The time to live value of the trace route request. This is the maximum number of routers that a
