Fast Replacement of the Master device
When the Master device must be replaced and the Memory Group is already config-
ured, follow the procedure below:
1. unmount the Memory Group from the damaged Master device and connect it to
t
he new one (see "
Memory Group Unmounting for Cable Connection" on page 35);
2. check that the new device has the same
part number as the replaced one;

3. the cluster size and models now match and only the serial numbers do not match.
The Master device display will show the “CFG NO MATCHING” message. The Mas-
ter device can now be aligned with the Memory Group topology by re
storing the
configuration from the Memory Group to the device or by creating a new configu-
ration via DLSentinel.
To restore the configuration from the Memory Group, proceed as follows:
4. after selecting the Restore option, the Mas
ter device display will show the “RUN
TEST MODE” message;
5. select “ENTER TEST” to start the test procedure;
6. at test completion, select “EXIT TEST”;
7. the user is now prompted to v
alidate or reject the configuration.
If the Master model is not compatible, the display will show the “WAITING
CONF” message and a new configuration via the DLSentinel graphic user
interface will be required.
Only replace the damaged Master device. Do not change any Slave devices
or the topology configured before the replacement. Otherwise, the Master
device display will show the “WAITING CONF” message and a new configu-
ration via the DLSentinel graphic user interface will be required.
