Interfering Gas Effects:
Quantitative Effect/Comments
Nitrous oxide
Halothane
Enflurane
Isoflurane
Sevoflurane
Desflurane
The interfering gas will have no effect on the
measurement value if compensation of O

O,
anesthetic agents has been correctly set.
NOTE:
Respiration Rate accuracy was verified by using a solenoid test setup to deliver a square
wave of known CO
2
concentration to the device. 5% and 10% CO
2
concentrations were
used. Respiration rate was varied over the range of the device. Pass/Fail criteria was
comparison of the respiratory rate output from the sensor to the frequency of the square
wave.
A.12 C.O.
Only applicable to X12.
23 C to 43 C (73.4 ºF to 109.4 ºF)
-1 C to 27 C(30.2 ºF to 80.6 ºF)
5% or 0.2 L/min, whichever is greater
0.1 C (not including sensor)
0.1 C (not including sensor)
NOTE:
At least 90% of the C.O. data should reside inside the bounded region, and the lower
95% confidence interval should not exceed 85%.
