IGMP Snooping
– 1195 –
COMMAND USAGE
◆ When proxy reporting is enabled with this command, the switch
performs “IGMP Snooping with Proxy Reporting” (as defined in DSL
Forum TR-101, April 2006), including last leave, and query
suppression. Last leave sends out a proxy query when the last member
leaves a multicast group, and query suppression means that specific
queries are not forwarded from an upstream multicast router to hosts
downstream from this device.
◆ If the IGMP proxy reporting is configured on a VLAN, this setting takes
precedence over the global configuration.
EXAMPLE
Console(config)#ip igmp snooping proxy-reporting
Console(config)#
ip igmp snooping
querier
This command enables the switch as an IGMP querier. Use the no form to
disable it.
SYNTAX
[no] ip igmp snooping querier
DEFAULT SETTING
Enabled
COMMAND MODE
Global Configuration
COMMAND USAGE
◆ IGMP snooping querier is not supported for IGMPv3 snooping (see ip
igmp snooping version).
◆ If enabled, the switch will serve as querier if elected. The querier is
responsible for asking hosts if they want to receive multicast traffic.
EXAMPLE
Console(config)#ip igmp snooping querier
Console(config)#
ip igmp snooping
router-alert-option-
check
This command discards any IGMPv2/v3 packets that do not include the
Router Alert option. Use the no form to ignore the Router Alert Option
when receiving IGMP messages.
SYNTAX
[no] ip igmp snooping router-alert-option-check
