To prevent dispensing errors, regularly check the precision and accuracy of the pipette.
You can use the "PICASO" software, version 2.3.18 or higher, to determine the maximum
permissible systematic and random errors. If the pipette is used at an extremely high
altitude, it must be adjusted to the ambient air pressure.
Symptom/Message Possible cause Remedy
No spring-loaded
action of the tip cone
when taking up
pipette tips.
• The spring-loaded action is
blocked.
 Single-channel pipette:
Remove locking ring.
 Multi-channel pipette:
Remove locking clip.
• The use of a pipette larger
than 1 000 µL.
• No remedy available.
The tip cones of pipette
models larger than 1 000 µL
do not respond with
spring-loaded action.
The following
message appears
briefly for the
selected volume:
Volume limit
XXXX µL/mL
• The Volume limit option was
used to limit the volume to
the displayed value.
1. Make sure that you are
authorized to change the
Volume limit option.
2. Move the selection dial to
Opt.
3. Select the Volume limit
option.
Symptom/Message Possible cause Remedy
A software error is
shown on the
display.
–
 Press the reset key.
The password is
incorrect.
• The password for the Edit
mode and the Adjustment
option has been mixed up.
• Password forgotten
 Enter the correct password.
 Initial reset, set the CAN bus
address and termination of
the thermal cyclers as listed
below.
 Contact local Eppendorf
distribution partner and
request Master key.
