Installing the Timing Belt
Install the J5 Timing Belt.
POINT
• First place the belt on pulley 1.
• Make sure that the teeth of the
Timing Belt and the pulley are
properly engaged.
CAUTION
If the Timing Belt is placed on the
flange, correct tension will not be
obtained during belt tension
adjustment.

Set the belt so that it is level
with respect to the pulley
without it being placed on the
flange.
