2. An error is indicated.

the error type.
Fatal error?
Release lever error?
Maintenace error has
occurred.
No ink cartridge
or
Ink low error?
Replace the Ink drain
pads and then reset the
EEPROM.
(Refer to Section 1.4.3
and 3.2.9.)
Check the ink cartridge
and release sensor lever.
If they are defective,
replace them.
Does the error
still occur?
Release the release lever
and check is any paper is
loaded in the printer.
Replace the ink cartridge
with a new one.
Turn off the printer and
move the carriage manually.
Is the
movement
smooth?
Check the CR motor and
drivers. If they are normal,
replace the MAIN board.
Is the problem
corrected?
Proceed to Section 5.5
" Repair of the printer mechanism ".
