5.2.2 Using the Adjustment Program

5.2.2.1 Operating Environment

our computer must be

ured as described below. Reboot the PC after makin

Use MS-DOS version 6.2 or hi
her.
Start the ad
ustment pro
ram onl
after bootin
to DOS, as the
pro
ram does not operate in a DOS window within the Windows
environment.
Use onl
LPT1 as the printer port.
Check the contents of
our CONFIG.SYS file, and add the followin
command line if it’s not alread
present:
Device=c:\<path name>\ansi.sys
or
Devicehigh=c:\<path name>\ansi.sys
The device driver
ansi.sys
enables escape se
uence characters to
displa
properl
on the screen. Replace
<path name>
with the path
of the director
containin
our ansi.s
s file.
If
ou’re not sure
where the ansi.s
s file is located,
ou can use the Find tool in
Windows Explorer to locate it.
Check the contents of
our AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and add the
followin
command line if it’s not alread
present:
Mode lpt1:retry=p
This command resends failed transmissions of raster data, and
defines the numbers of retries to the printer port as
permanent.
