15.2.3 Cleaning the Measuring Chambers (Hard Cleaning)
If the system keeps reporting high blank values, direct cleaning of measuring chambers must
be carried out.
The analyzer software will ask for a sample vial filled with Erba•Hypoclean CC as a sample.
The analyzer used for hard cleaning about 1.5 ml Erba•Hypoclean CC.
15.2.4 Daily Cleaning
At the end of the daily routine (during shutdown), the analyzer software will ask for a sample
tube filled with Erba•Hypoclean CC as a sample. This will clean the whole measurement
related tube path.

After this operation, you can leave ELite 5 on for the rest of the day. It will go into a low
power state after a specified time.
Note: It is recommended to perform this cleaning every day!
15.2.5 Special Cleaning Procedure
Despite regular cleaning, Emergency cleaning procedure is advisable, if the blank
measurement result is too high or unacceptable result appear during the measurement or
calibration.
Use the built-in cleaning process in the maintenance/prime and clean/clean menu and check
the proper result with a blank measure.
If the blank is still too high use the built-in hard clean process and check the proper result
with some blank measures.
If the blank is still too high use the built-in internal diluents reservoir cleaning process and
check the proper result with some blank measures.
