Technical Specification
B-12
1/1553-FGC 101 1790 Uen Y
pass-thru
encoding from LPCM
transcode from pre-compressed sources.
The capability of one VCM is given in the tables below in this section. Each item is
given a weighting, and the VCM can support up four separate weightings whose
total does not exceed 100.
Pass-thru is a capability that does not require the involvement of decode,
preprocessing, or encode.
Audio encode or transcode are capabilities that always combine a decode, an
optional preprocessing step, and an encode, and all weightings involved must be
accounted for.
B.3.7.1 Limitations
Each EI9001 or EI9001T, as appropriate, is subject to the following upper limits as

B.3.7.2 Pass-thru
For the best performance when passing through compressed audio, the video and
audio coming into the unit must be locked together, and the system clock locked to
Video or Ext SYNC. When set to Ext SYNC, the source audio and video must also
be locked to this source.
Pass-thru is provided license-free.
