DTP CrossPoint 84 Series Matrix Switchers • Introduction 4
Definitions
The following terms, which apply to all Extron matrix switchers, are used throughout this
manual:
• Tie — An input-to-output video and/or line audio connection.
• Set of ties — An input tied to two or more outputs. (An output can never be tied to
more than one input.)
• Configuration — One or more ties, one or more sets of ties. The “configuration” also
can include some or all of the signal processor settings that can be made in the DSP
Configurator program.
• Current configuration — The configuration that is currently active in the switcher (also
called configuration 0).
• Preset — A full or partial configuration (a subset of ties, sets of ties, or signal processor
settings) with accompanying audio settings that has been stored.
NOTES:
•
Pr
esets can be created only by using the DSP Configurator program.
•
When a pr
eset is retrieved from memory, it becomes the current configuration.
•
Up to 32 partial or pr
esets can be stored in memory. Preset locations are
assigned to the input buttons and output buttons. Up to 12 preset locations
can be recalled from the front panel. Preset numbers larger than 12 are
accessible under remote control.
•
Pr
esets can also be recalled using SIS commands, using the Product
Configuration Software, or using the DSP Configurator program.
•
When a pr
eset consisting of full configurations is recalled, it completely
overwrites the current configuration.
•
When a pr
eset consisting of one or more partial configurations is recalled, it
overwrite only a portion of the current configuration, leaving other ties and
settings unchanged.
