10 FCP-300/FCP-300ECS Manual — P/N LS10145-002FK-E:A 3/12/2021
Section 1: Introduction
The Fike® Series, FCP-300 (red) and FCP-300ECS (red) panels are Analog Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), that com-
ply with the requirements of the UL 864 Standard.
The FCP-300ECS is an intelligent fire alarm control panel combined with an Emergency Communication System that meets the require-
ments for Mass Notification as described in UL 864 and UL 2572 Standards.
1.1 System Overview
The FCP-300 base System is an Addressable System with a built-in annunciator that can also be used to program the System.
If you have a question or encounter a problem not covered in this manual, contact Fike Customer Service listed below:
1.1.1 Hardware Features
• The basic FCP-300/ECS panel contains one built-in Signaling Line Circuit (SLC), which supports up to 159 Fike sensors and 159
Fike modules or devices. Additional SLC loops can be added to increase the overall point capacity.
• Additional FIK-6815 SLC expanders supports 159 Fike sensors and 159 Fike modules for a maximum of 300 points per FCP-
300/ECS control panel.
• 6.0A of the output power is available through 4 sets of terminals for notification appliance circuits or auxiliary applications.
Each circuit is power-limited per UL 864 and can source up to 3.0A (total output power for all 4 circuits must not exceed 6.0A).
The constant auxiliary power load must not exceed 3A for normal standby.
• Built-in dual phone line, digital alarm communicator/transmitter (DACT), IP or optional technologies.
• Reports events to the Central Station by point or by zone.
• UL Listed for pre-action and deluge Releasing Systems.
• Two general purpose Form C programmable relays.
• One Form C Trouble Relay.
• Can be used with up to 16 Models: FIK-RA100, FIK-RA1000R, FIK-2000 Remote Annunciators in any combination (sold
separately).
• Can be used with Models: FIK-5865-3, FIK-5865-4, and FIK-5880 in any combination for a total of eight devices on one control
panel. See Sections 4.11 and Section 4.12 for additional information on these models.
• Printing of the Event Log is available through the Model FIK-5824 Serial/Parallel Printer Interface Module.
• 250 software zones and 250 output groups.
• Add six Flexput® circuits with each FIK-RPS1000 power supply.
• Add four NAC circuits with each FIK-5496 NAC expander.
.
1.1.2 Network System Hardware Features
• The default network setup can contain up to 32- FCP-300 panels connected.
• Network support for up to 32 sites.
• Each building is referred to as a “site”.
• Panels can be interconnected using a Class B or Class A topology.
• To network panels together, use the FIK-NIC network card. Copper wire or fiber-optic cable panel connectivity can be used within
the same networked System.
• The network architecture provides true peer-to-peer capability allowing network survivability for all hardware that remains
operational in the event of partial System failure.
1.1.3 Software Features
• Advanced smoke detector features:
– Automatic drift compensation
– Automatic day/night sensitivity adjustment
– Maintenance alert region
– Point status complies with the calibrated smoke test requirements for NFPA 72
• “JumpStart®” feature for easy programming
• The non-volatile Event History stores 1000 events
• Offers a choice of output patterns available for notification outputs, including ANSI 3.41 temporal signal
• Built-in synchronization appliance support for AMSECO, Gentex
®
, System Sensor
®
, and Wheelock
®
