1 Safety Information
If you use the gage as intended and observe the safety information, it will not
present any danger.
Read and follow the instructions in this operator’s manual and observe the
safety information. Also observe generally applicable safety and accident pre-
vention regulations.
1.1 Intended use
The gage is intended solely for measurement and determination of ambient cli-
matic variables as dew point, relative humidity, air and surface temperatures.
Only accessories approved or recommended by the manufacturer may be con-
nected to the gage.
Any use beyond this is not the intended use. The risk of damage resulting from
this is borne solely by the user!
1.2 Environmental conditions
Elevated temperature
When exposed to sunshine, the areas behind glass windows (e.g. in an automo-
bile) can easily reach temperatures in excess of +50 °C (122 °F). This can cause
damage to the gage.
Do not keep or store the gage and accessories behind glass panes, or
near to heat sources such as radiators etc.!
Destruction of the gage by condensation
When the gage is moved from a cold environment to a warm environment,
condensation can form inside the gage and damage its electronics. Such
extreme temperature fluctuations occur in winter, for example, between
outdoor (C/3F) and room temperature (+2C/71.F).
Allow the gage some time to acclimatize to the ambient temperature
before you start the measurement.
