11.2 Gage cleaning
Switch off the gage before cleaning it!
Cleaning a dirty gage housing
Damage to the sensors due to cleaning with compressed air
Cleaning the sensors with compressed air can damage the sensors!
► Never clean the sensors with compressed air!
► Use a brush to remove dust and dirt from the housing grille.
► Simply wipe away normal soiling, such as dust, with a damp cloth.
► Wipe away oily deposits with a dry cloth and then clean the spots with
plastic cleaner or household detergent.
► Remove paint and lacquer using a solvent. Use solvents such as acetone,
methyl ethyl ketone, turpentine oil, or xylene to clean the gage.
Do not clean the gage under running water!
IP65 ≠ waterproof
Gages with protection class IP65 are not waterproof and cannot withstand
constant water pressure!
Cleaning a dirty display
► Always use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
► If cleaning with water is not sufficient, use only ethanol for cleaning.
IP65 protection no longer guaranteed
If the display is cleaned with just any solvent, the bond with the housing can
become damaged, rendering the IP65 protection invalid.
► Use only water or ethanol to clean the display!
Scratching the Display
Cleaning the display with a dry cloth can scratch the display.
► Always use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning!
