8.1 USB data transfer to an Excel spreadsheet via PC-Datex
8.1.1 PC-Datex – program installation
PC-Datex is a software program for importing data to the Office program
MS Excel.

To install PC-Datex
1. Find Office Bit Version you use, e.g., for Excel program: File > Account > Info
about Excel.
2. Click on your desired download file on the Fischer download page. The zip
program file will be automatically saved on your PC, usually in the "Down-
load" folder.
3. Unzip the zip file that matches your Office bit version:
…_32.zip for Office 32-Bit, …_64.zip for Office 64-Bit.
4. Install PC-Datex: double-click on setup.exe.
5. Integrate the PC-Datex as an Excel add-in into the MS Excel office program.
Observe the "Installation Guide for Excel" in the operator’s manual,
included in the zip file.
8.1.2 USB connection settings
For data transfer via USB interface, in addition to the physical connection be-
tween PC and gage via USB cable, settings of the corresponding transfer pa-
rameters in the PC-Datex program and in the gage are also necessary.
Before you start
MS Excel with the PC-Datex program as an add-in is installed on the PC,
see page 37.
An USB cable, e.g. from scope of supply, is ready.
For data transmission, use the USB cable from the scope of supply or any
other commercially available USB cable with a C/A-type plugs; maximum
usable cable length: 3 m (118.11 inches).
