a qualitative way. Accuracy should be deemed a generic term for trueness and
precision and is shown schematically in the representation below.
Schematic representation of the terms accuracy, trueness, and precision
Batch
A file for organizing and controlling the measurement data
. All relevant settings
for measuring and the determined climatic values themselves are saved in a
file. In the gage, such a file is called a batch. In the batch you define the mea-
surement procedure, e.g., limit and alarm monitoring for individual climatic
variables during measurement.
CAQ
Computer Added Quality
CAQ systems analyze, document, and archive quality-relevant data for produc-
tion processes.
Coefficient of variation V [%]
Percent variation of a series of measurements, i. e., Standard Deviation (s) in
terms of the mean value. V [%] is a characteristic process constant. A sudden
change in V [%] indicates a change in process conditions.
Histogram
Graphical representation that shows the number of all measured readings in
certain measured variable ranges (classes). The class widths (width of the rect-
angles) are always identical and are calculated automatically for the predefined
specification limit range (tolerance range). The reliability of statistical results
depends in part on the curve shape of the histogram. Deviation from the normal

Repeatability
Agreement between the indi-
vidual measuring results un-

conditions
Agreement between the
true value and the mean
value of the measuring re-
sults that can be obtained
continually under practical
conditions.
