16.6 Removing / inserting the PSD (security device)
Caution! Remove the PSD in exceptional cases only, e.g. if you need to send
the mailing system or PSD to Customer Support. The connector of the PSD is
designed for a maximum of 30 connection cycles (removal / insertion).
Caution! When the postage meter or the PSD was in a cold environment (i.e.
below 50 °F / 10 °C) before: Wait for at least two hours before connecting and
commissioning the PostBase Fusion postage meter. The postage meter
needs this time to adapt to the environmental conditions allowing any con-
densed moisture to escape.
Removing the PSD
• Turn PostBase Fusion off.
PostBase Fusion will complete any current
actions, lowers the display and then switches
off.
• Unplug the power plug from the outlet.
• Unplug the power cable from the power
connection of the postage meter.
• Press the clip catch on the cover of the
PSD slot in the direction of the arrow and
remove the cover.
