MAQUET recommends that a bacterial/viral
filter is always connected to the expiratory
connection on the patient cassette. This will
minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
6.2 Patient cassette
The patient cassette is the center of gas flow
in the system.
The cassette is connected to the following:
• Fresh gas inlet
• Volume reflector
• Manual breathing bag
• CO
2
absorber
• Pressure transducers
• Gas evacuation
• Patient tubing
• Gas sampling line
