In this position, the patient cassette seals the
gas flow and bypasses the absorber.
Turn the locking switch counter-clockwise to
return the absorber into the breathing system.
The system compensates for the change in
compliance when the CO
2
absorber is
disconnected.
The absorber can be mounted or dismounted
from the system.
Locked
In this position, the expired gas flows through
the CO
2
absorber, i.e. normal position.
Bypassed (not applicable to all systems)
In this position, the patient cassette seals the
gas flow and bypasses the absorber.
Turn the locking switch counter-clockwise to
return the absorber into the breathing system.
The system compensates for the change in
compliance when the CO
2
absorber is
bypassed.
