Expiration
Exhaled gas enters the volume reflector.
Reflector gas is pushed back and evacuated
through the PEEP valve.
Due to the counter pressure in the inspiratory
channel caused by flow from the patient, fresh
gas delivered during the expiration phase will
fill the CO
2
absorber. It will be returned to the
inspiratory channel during the next inspiration.
