Boost mode (spare lighting capacity) is available on the Volista range and enables the illumina-
tion to be set to the maximum level when required by surgical conditions. It ensures that irradi-
ance is controlled, in that this mode is deliberately activated, and is not stored when the light is
turned off. When activated, the last bar on the illumination level indicator on the lighthead flashes,
drawing the user’s attention to the possibility of excessive irradiance when the light fields are su-
perimposed.

The light field diameter variation function can
be used to adjust the size of the illuminated
area to match the dimensions of the incision.
The Volista lighting system enables the dia-
meter to be set to one of five levels.
