7 Maintenance
To preserve your device’s original performance and reliability levels, annual maintenance and in-
spections should be performed as follows. During the guarantee period, maintenance and inspec-
tions must be performed by a Getinge technician or a Getinge-approved dealer. After this period,
maintenance and inspections may be performed by a Getinge technician, a Getinge-approved
dealer or a hospital technician trained by Getinge. Please contact your dealer to undergo the
technical training required.
7.1 Visual and functional inspections
To ensure that the product used is compliant, various visual and functional inspections must be
performed by trained personnel. It is recommended that records be kept of the results of these in-
spections, along with the date and signature of the person performing them.
7.1.1 Monthly inspections

Integrity of the lighthead
1. Check the lightheads for chipped paint, impact marks and any
other damage.
2. Check that the lighthead rotates correctly.
3. Check that the lighthead does not drift.
4. If a problem is noted, contact technical support.
Operation of the LEDs
1. Press the On/Off button on the lighthead control keypad to turn on
the light.
2. Check that the lighthead responds to keypad commands by ad-
justing the illumination of the lighthead from the minimum to the
maximum setting.
Ø The light intensity varies depending on the selected level.
3. Turn on the light, selecting the largest light field diameter (such
that all LEDs are lit); see Adjusting the illumination [8Page44].
4. Check that all the LEDs are operating.
Absence of particles
1. Check that there are no particles which could cause friction in the
Quick Lock interface; remove any dust from the areas concerned
on the camera/handle and the lighthead.
2. If a problem is noted, contact technical support.
