2.2.1 GPIB Address Selection
Before the instrument can be remotely controlled over the interface bus, it must be assigned a specific
address so that the controller can differentiate it from active bus components. This is accomplished with
the following keystrokes:
1. Press
[CONFIG]
in the SYSTEM section of the front panel.
2. The menu that next appears will have a softkey labeled [GPIB DEVICES]. Press this key.
3. The display will then show the 8003 address and prompt to change the address. Enter any desired
address (0 through 30) that is not currently being used for another device on the bus. The default
address for the instrument is 4.
