3 THE TREE STRUCTURE OF MENUS
Setting the Condition Priority (CONDITION PRIORITY) [Default setting: PROGRAM]
This function determines whether to place priority on the programmed cutting conditions sent as commands
from the computer or on the cutting conditions that have been manually specied at the plotter’s control
panel.
When MANUAL is selected, commands specifying cutting conditions sent from the computer are ignored,
and the cutting conditions can only be specied or changed at the plotter’s control panel. The specied cut-
ting conditions are retained in the plotter’s memory even while the plotter is turned off.
When PROGRAM is selected, the plotter will assume the latest cutting conditions that have been specied
either at its control panel or by command input. When the plotter is turned off, only the cutting conditions that
were specied at the control panel will be retained, while any cutting conditions specied by command input
will be lost.
Tool Exchange (Condition Selection) Commands (SP, J) (TOOL SELECT)
[Default setting: ENABLED]
If MANUAL was selected for CONDITION PRIORITY, tool exchange commands are also ignored, but the tool
exchange command (SP, J COMMAND) itself can be specied as ENABLED or DISABLED.
Setting the Blade-tip Initial Position (INIT. BLADE CONTROL) [Default setting: 2mm BELOW]
After the plotter is turned on or the Condition settings are changed, the cutter pen blade is positioned on the
medium to adjust the blade tip orientation. This action is referred to as “initial blade control.” Thus, this func-
tion species the position for initial blade control.
When 2mm BELOW is selected, initial blade control is performed 2 mm below the starting point of cutting.
When OUTSIDE is selected, initial blade control is performed outside the effective cutting area.
Enabling or Disabling Tool Up Movement (TOOL UP MOVE) [Default setting: DISABLED]
When the plotter receives commands that specify consecutive tool movements in raised status, this function
determines whether to move the tool to each coordinate point or to move the tool directly to the nal coordi-
nate point.
When ENABLED is selected, the tool moves to each coordinate point in sequence.
When DISABLED is selected, the tool moves directly to the nal coordinate point.
Enabling or Disabling Checking of the Presence or Absence of a Tool (TOOL CHECK)
[Default setting: ENABLED] FC4500-50/60 only
This function determines whether or not to check whether tools have been mounted in the tool holders.
When ENABLED is selected, a check is made of whether pens 1 and 2 are actually mounted in the pen hold-
ers whenever a pen exchange operation is performed.
When DISABLED is selected, operation is performed on the assumption that pens 1 and 2 are mounted in
the pen holders. Pen 2 must be mounted in its pen holder when the plotter is turned on.
Enabling or Disabling the Beeper (BEEPER) [Default setting: ENABLED]
This function determines whether or not the beeper sounds each time a key on the control panel is pressed.
When ENABLED is selected, the beeper sounds
When DISABLED is selected, the beeper doesn’t sound.
