For your protection, a re extinguisher is supplied with your vehicle. It is located
under the front passenger seat.
Depending on the regulations in your country, have the re
extinguisher checked regularly by an authorised specialist.
■ Check the expiry date of the extinguisher.
■ Always keep a re blanket (not supplied) handy near the galley.
■ Do not obstruct the emergency exits.
■ Obey the re extinguisher user instructions.
In case of re
■ Alert all occupants and evacuate the vehicle.
■ Switch o the electrical power supply and isolate it from the mains.
■ Close the main valve on the gas cylinder.
■ Sound the alarm and call the re department.
■ If it is safe to do so, ght the re using appropriate means.
1.3.2 - What to do if you smell gas?
■ Alert all occupants and evacuate the vehicle.
■ Open the doors and windows to bring fresh air into the vehicle.
■ Close the gas valve.
■ Do not switch the light on or o.
■ Do not operate any electrical switches.
■ Do not use a telephone in the high-risk area.
■ Do not light a naked ame (such as a lighter or match).
■ Do not smoke.
If the cause of the gas leak cannot be determined, have the
installation inspected by your nearest authorised dealer before
using it again.
Ventilation and aeration
The oxygen in the vehicle is consumed by the occupants of the van and by the
use of the gas stove. Suicient aeration must be ensured, at all times of the year,
to continually refresh the air and evacuate humidity and CO2 from the vehicle.
Your vehicle is equipped with vents for this purpose.
■ Never cover or obstruct the vehicle's vents.
■ Check that nothing is obstructing the external air inlets.
■ Open the roof to obtain high-level ventilation (see page 95).
1.4 - Legal framework
1.4.1 - Regulations
The vehicle must be registered in accordance with regulations. There are no
specic regulations concerning the use of a van.
Because a van is both a vehicle and a type of accommodation, it is subject to the
provisions of the following laws (these dier according to the country):
■ The Highway Code governing the operation of motor vehicles.
■ The General Code of Local and Regional Authorities and the Highway Code
for parking on the public highway.
■ Town planning code for parking on private property.
1.4.2 - Guarantee
■ The guarantee, provided by the selling dealer, is 24 months from the date of
delivery and handover. It must be stated by the selling dealer in the box set
aside for that purpose on the guarantee certicate.
■ The guarantee applies to the cab/living area part only, in addition to any
conversions HANROAD has carried out on the carrier chassis. Moreover, the
chassis part is covered by the vehicle manufacturer's guarantee.
■ As far as possible, the guarantee must be provided by the selling dealer,
both for the cabin itself and for defective parts, which can be replaced
independently.
■ The vehicle must be made available to the dealer for the replacement or
repair work. Return transportation costs (for both vehicle and people) or
other costs arising directly or indirectly for that purpose will not give rise to
any compensation.
