■ For electrical appliances with their own manufacturer's guarantee
(refrigerator, heating, etc.), speak to your local representative of the brand
(see the list of representatives attached to the instructions for the device
concerned) or, if not available, speak to your HANROAD dealer.
■ When appliances are accompanied by guarantee documents, it is essential
to complete them and return them to the manufacturers concerned.
The guarantee is void in the following cases:
■ The purchaser has not obeyed the user instructions.
■ The van has been modied by an unqualied person or by installing non-
original parts.
■ The damage or fault was caused by a failure to obey the highway code.
■ The damage was caused by incorrect or negligent use.
■ Natural wear and tear due to normal use.
■ The vehicle was repaired in a workshop not approved by HANROAD or
without its prior written consent.
■ The vehicle was converted or equipped with accessories not installed by the
manufacturer that are likely to aect its essential characteristics.
■ When the vehicle is stored, it must be checked regularly according to the
recommendations in the user's manual, whether at the customer's or the
dealer's premises.
1.5 - Good manners
1.5.1 - General rules
Discretion is the primary quality of the camper van user, who must not leave
behind any trace of their presence.
Courtesy, respect for others, and protection of the environment are universal
values that apply to camper van users in particular.
The use of camper vans as accommodation requires the user to obey certain
rules with regard to the residents of the locations visited.
1.5.2 - Parking
In town centres or urban areas, it is preferable to choose a parking spot in an
area of low population density and to avoid obstructing the view or the trade of
businesses, for which the size of the van must obviously not impede traic.
Likewise, the use of camper vans as accommodation must take place in such
locations:
■ Without overowing into the area outside the vehicle.
■ Without causing any nuisance to local residents.
■ Without monopolising any public spaces.
■ Supervising pets in order to avoid causing a nuisance or a mess.
1.5.3 - Waste
The evacuation of waste water must take place:
■ In appropriate locations, and never near residences, streams, or crops.
■ The emptying of waste water into storm drains is strictly prohibited.
During travel, all water evacuation valves must be closed. Even the evacuation
of clean water must be performed discreetly in order to avoid looking
suspicious. It is always useful to nd out about the local municipality's facilities
to dispose of waste water in the most appropriate way. Household waste must
be disposed of using bags, to be placed in the locations provided for that
purpose.
When all of these common-sense rules are applied, everyone will be able to fully
enjoy the many joys of using camper vans.
