6.1.1 Installing a High-Speed Network Module
Takethefollowingstepstoinstallahigh‐speednetworkmodule.
Step 1. Removethehigh‐speedmodulefromitsESDcompliantbag.
Step 2. Lineuptheedgesofthemodule’sprintedcircuitcardwiththeguidesintheempty
UniversalI/Oslot(Figure 6‐1).

Step 3. Carefullyslidethemoduleintotheslotuntilthemoduleisseatedintheslot’sconnec‐
tor.ThefaceplateofthemoduleshouldbeflushwiththefrontoftheHN4000.
Step 4. Usingthe#1Phillip’sheadscrewdriver,tightenthetwomountingscrews(4.0in‐lbs
(0.45Nm))to
securethemodule(Figure 6‐2).Donotovertightenthescrews.

Step 5. ConnectanetworkcabletoPort1and(optionally)toPort2ofthehigh‐speedmod‐
ule.
Step 6. DressthecablestotherightoftheHN4000andthroughacable‐guideslotinthe
right‐sidemountingbracket.
Step 7. Terminatetheotherendofthenetworkcables
percustomerrequirements.
