1.7 Power and Ground Requirements
1.7.1 Power Budget
ThepowersourcefeedinganHN4000mustprovideanominal‐48VDCat2Amperes.
DCvoltageMin/Maxis‐40.0to‐57.6VDC,measuredatthechassis.
A2Amperefuseratingisrecommended.
1.7.2 Power Requirements
TherackfortheinstallationoftheHN4000mustbeequippedwithacircuitbreakerpanelor
fusepanel.Iftherackdoesnothaveacircuitbreakerpanelorfusepanel,onemustbeaccessi‐
blewithinacablingdistanceof15feet(4.5m)ofthepowerinputsonthe
HN4000chassis.
TheHN4000mustbeconnectedtoagroundedSafetyExtraLowVoltage(SELV)source.The
SELVsourceisdefinedasDCvoltagesratedunder60VDC.Refertothesection”Installingthe
GroundandPowerCables”onpage2‐6forinstallationinformation.
1.7.3 Grounding Requirements
TheHN4000chassisisequippedwithadouble‐holecrimpedterminal.Groundingoftheraw
endofthecableshouldconformwithlocalpractices,usingwiresizesof
10‐14AWG(1.6‐2.6mm).

1.8 Required Tools

The DC return is to remain isolated from the system frame and the chassis (DC-I).
The HN4000 must be permanently grounded to a Common Bonding Network (CBN).
