3 Important notes for heating
Please note:
Check the heating system pressure (water level) before heating.
Have fuel ready close to the boiler.
Ensure “proper” firing (refer to operating manual of boiler).
Check for “proper” setting of the wood type and moisture level.
Check the heat requirements and residual loading of the accumulator, when firing or
refuelling without BSB.
Check the displayed refuel amount, if firing/refuelling is carried out with BSB.
Refuel amount:
Refuel amount can be set in the refuel menu (“Refuel” in text display), if a small amount of fuel is
added. This is important for the heating controller. The refuel amount can be reduced to the
minimum amount required for AFO (see chapter 1.4).
Depending on the menu settings “Wood Boiler” → “Settings” → “Wood settings” → 5.03 Display in,
the refuel amount is displayed in “kg or in %”; “%relates to 100% of the entire fuel chamber
height.
3.1 Opening door(s) and firing
Open door(s):
Use button to activate the Open door(s) and refuel program. (If the controller is in power-
saving mode, press the button 2 x!) Follow the instructions on the display. Pressing the button
again, while the Open door(s)” and refuel program is active, the firing process is aborted.
Firing:
The bar in the display indicates the flue gas temperature required for closing the door(s). Once it is
reached, the boiler is switched ON, display 1 illuminates the display indicates “Boiler ON”.
3.2 Refuelling in operating status “Boiler ON
Please note:
Fuel must be added quickly. Keep fuel ready at hand; then close the door(s) immediately.
“REFUEL” will display for about 5 minutes, regardless of the actual time. Operation and function as
described in chapter 3.1.
If required, set a different wood type and moisture level (see chapter 3.6).
Without BSB the heating demand and available accumulator load capacity must be checked.
When refuelling with BSB check the displayed refuel amount.
If less fuel is added, the amount must be corrected accordingly. The refuel amount may be
reduced to the minimum required amount for AFO (see chapter 1.4).
Opening the doors (refuelling) when in “Boiler ON” mode is not recommended.
Recommendation: Do not refuel unless the “Refuel” light illuminates.
3.3 Flue gas temperature too high
If the flue gas temperature increases to ≥ 300°C due to keeping the refuel-, ash- or ignition door open for too long,
Flue gas temp. too high ---°C“ is displayed and a buzzer sounds. In this case: Close the door(s) immediately.
If the flue gas temperature exceeds 350°C, the flue gas fan is switched off for safety reasons. If it falls below 299°C
again, the fan is reactivated. This prevents damage of the flue gas fan, the flue gas sensor and respectively the O
2
sensor.
3.4 Safety shutdown
Repeated pressing of initiates the safety shutdown of the boiler. This is not an admissible operating function. Safety
shutdown appears in the text display, indicator light 4 illuminates. As long as the note is displayed, the boiler may be
started using buttons / . Once the note is not displayed anymore, the boiler may be started using button (refuel).
Deactivation may be required for safety reasons, e.g. no water in heating system.
Please, do not open any door after a safety shutdown.
They can be opened after button “Refuel” () was pressed and the door safety check is OK.
